IXIA Chapter Native Plant Sale

IXIA Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society

Eight Annual Native Plant Sale

The Ixia Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society is holding their Annual Native Plant Sale on Saturday, April 15th, 2022, from 10 am-2 pm at Native Parks 1 and 2.  The parks are located across from each other at 3312 and 3306 Park Street in Jacksonville and showcase native plants suitable for use in the home landscape in both formal and informal settings.

The sale is open to the public at no charge and will include a variety of flowers, shrubs, trees, vines and ground covers, all native to the northeast area of this state.  Commercial native nurseries will also join Ixia members in providing plants for the sale and volunteer Ixia members will be available to help with advice in selecting and caring for plants purchased.

Native Park improvements funded by previous Plant Sales include an informational kiosk, landscaping elements in Native Park 2 and additions of plants in both Parks.  Native Park I was adopted by Ixia in 2010 as part of the City’s Friends of the Park program to carry out the original purpose of “the study of Florida plant life.”  It is the first COJ Park to receive the outstanding Park Award presented by the Riverside Avondale Preservation Society/St. John’s Riverkeeper organization and to receive the City of Jacksonville Neighborhood Award.  More information about Ixia and the future plans for both these lovely Parks can be found at ixia.fnpschapters.org
