You are invited to submit artwork for the 42nd Annual Riverside Avondale Preservation Luminaria. One of the premier holiday events in Jacksonville, Luminaria has brought friends, family and neighbors together for one, joyous Sunday evening in December to illuminate the historic Riverside Avondale district by candlelight for the past 42 years.
Artwork submissions should embody the community and unified spirit of the Riverside and Avondale neighborhoods. The historic and nostalgic feel of the Luminaria event and holiday season should also be taken into consideration. Artwork should include “42nd Annual,” “Luminaria,” the date “December 20, 2026,” and the artist’s signature. When designing the sketch, keep in mind that pieces of the selected design will be needed as stand-alone elements for various marketing and promotional needs. Please include a sketch with examples of the artist’s work featuring the overall style and technique planned to be used for the final design.
Final artwork, including its stand-alone elements, will be used for the event poster and other marketing and promotional purposes, such as newspaper ads, social media images, event signage, and merchandise. AI generated content will not be reviewed. The Luminaria committee will select the winning design.
