46th Annual Home Tour, returns

46th Annual Home Tour, Returns

Jacksonville, FL – Riverside Avondale Preservation’s (RAP) 46th annual Home Tour returns after a two-year hiatus with historic homes, churches, and architectural gems. The Home Tour is a celebration of the important preservation work done in our community with an eye to inspiring future trends. We are eager to bring back this critical signature event for the community.

The Spring Tour of Homes will be held on April 9-10, rain or shine. Homeowners and community institutions graciously open their doors to benefit Riverside Avondale Preservation, a dedicated grassroots preservation organization. We are featuring ten properties on the tour this year including the oldest home in Riverside (circa 1857), a sprawling triple-lot masterpiece, an active “new construction” project, two commercial buildings, and two local churches with incredible interiors. Two bungalows on the tour have dramatically different stories: one is Spanish Mission style and the other has recent renovations with an addition and an expanded outdoor space. Each home has its own unique story, and we invite you to learn each one during the tour.

“This year is a comeback year. The home tour is not only a community favorite, but also a critical showcase of what successful historic restoration looks like. We hope everyone will celebrate with us and enjoy the 46th annual Home Tour because we’ve all missed it the last two years,” said RAP Executive Director Shannon Blankinship.

This year is also the year of the Jacksonville Bicentennial. The Jaudon Residence will be on the tour as a representation of the oldest property in Riverside during Jacksonville’s earliest years. Tour the home and glimpse the features that remain on this 1857 farmhouse.

Tickets are $25 and are good for both Saturday and Sunday. You can purchase tickets online at 904Tix or at Riverside Avondale Preservation offices the week of the event. Tickets can also be purchased at each home the weekend of the tour. Guided tours are available from Zencog, Art Bikes Jax, Go Tuk’n and for the ASL community via info@riversideavondale.org.
